In-Car DVD

Post by Ian »

Thought you might like to know about this

I was looking some time back for in-car dvd systems to keep them in the back quiet. They were all too highly priced several grand - for the nice ones - headrest, roof mounted etc - not the HUGE one's you hang over seats.

Anyway, found a company on the web: http://www.merconnet.com/

Got nextbase2 dvd/mp3 etc etc with 2x headrest 6" screens - cost £200 all in - had this fitted to Volvo for £120. DVD is in the rear centre armrest.

Fantastic value/quality - got another for the Freelander - roof mounted screen and new head unit - £250 - got it fitted for £150.

Gonna get something for the Polo now.

Check them out they have good deals.

Hi Ian

It's been a while since you posted this...

How are they? Would you still recommend them?

Yep - recommend them - got some screens (headrest) and dvd for my Volvo now (sold the landy). All for less than £400 with infra headphones...dvd is fitted in the rear central armrest...very neat, did it myself (had screens fitted at local installer though).

Getting roof mounted unit for the polo (though tempted to get combined head unit (to go in that gap) though tempting accident with that one!!!

For what you get for the price, you just can't beat it. I've had no problem, all work exactly as they should and when fitted look neat.

No complaints and worth every penny.

This is cool stuff. Wouldn't dare to fit it myself though- cutting up my headrests is pretty drastic. You'd better know what you're doing then...

Perhaps they're too big for the Polo headrests?

Not that I can afford them or anything...
