How do you know when your cats on the way out??

Getin nasty smell in my car thought it might be my new plugs, leads and transformer?? but it a funny smell that gets strong when i give it a little throttle!

I know my brackets broken cos ive clipped it with exhaust clamp but how do you no what the internals are doin!?!?

Mine stinks when I've been giving it some!

BTW my bracket has broken too, how many miles you done?

VW said £600 for a new cat :shock: Been quoted just over £200 for a high flow replacement from Powerflow, does anyone know whether these are any good? I've already got a cat-back Powerflow exhaust.

Its done 25,000 since october 2001! high flow cat sounds good to me cos im not getin another cat for that price NO way!!

you could take it to an MOT station and check the emissions, or maybe even just ask the guys there?
