16'S FITTED AT LAST!!!

Post by Andrew B »

After much umming and arring, finally fitted some decent wheels to my Polo thanks to Vdubber :D
Took them to my local tyre fitter not kwikkrap, 4 dunlop 3000's 205/45-16 fitted, balanced and chrome valves for my old 14's plus £40 deal or what? Seems to have a lot more grip in the corners, although the 205's on the front have a tendancy to 'tramline' I may investigate putting 185/50-16 on the front, depends on any understeer/oversteer tweeking being needed once my lowering springs are fitted. Plus getting a full vortex kit supplied painted and fitted for £400 which is a deal in any ones book
Anyway enough about me, tell me about your polo

IMO i`d stick with the 205s and not downgrade to 185s think you`d may regret that, as for the votex kit + fitting and painting you`ve struck gold with that price of 400 lucky you m8 can`t wait to see the pics :)

Aye you could be right, handling seems fairly neutral, was understeering before with the 14's 185's, the tramlining is fairly minor too, just had a run up to newcastle, can take roundabouts 50% faster now though

Yup, looks well sorted when they're lowered like that blue one above, just fitted induction kit, don't now if its supposed to do this, when you floor it and the rev's climb past 3000 it really roars.

Could do one, the K&N came with a printed instruction sheet, the only issue I had was locating the thin rigid breather pipe as its hard to spot in the picture they give you. It is nowt flash though, no carbon fibre cool air box. just ordered a new vent and pipe from skoda garage to direct a bit more cold air at it.

Ref: dinos, thats weird could have sworn last time I looked it was lowered, unless I have confused it with another 9n on this site, :?

Question, is this the K&n 57i induction kit?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 21063&rd=1 << Would this be compatible with a 9n mk6?

Thanks, Mike
