I hate Lexus lights, especially on darker cars imo

The number and name on the roof was a bit tacky but the interior retrim looked fairly good.

I thought westwood was ok till nearer the end until quotes like

"This car is mad flava"

"It was straight busted"

having just caught PMR USA on cable's month long MTV free view, i think westwood is possibly a better choice than Xibit

the guy really didn't look comfortable... like he'd sold out... when westwood STARTED sold and has been trying to un-sell ever since.

maybe it was something to do with my first sighting of the show being him "pimping" some random chinese-american girl's old mistu space wagon (so, so wrong with a little childish type like her going on about how she's been pimped and is going to ride it... o_O)..... giving her a PDA - a god damn palm pilot (SOOOOO not-bling) and her gushing ohhhhhhhhhhhh thank you xibit!!!
perhaps if he'd been helping put hydraulics in some west side gangsta wannabe's old coupe de ville it would have felt less uneasy. but at least with westy you can ignore that and skip straight to taking the mick out of him.

edit: visiting website. the southern tw*t is trying to talk homeboy to me. sounds stupid.
edit 2: and his website is both a headache to look at and a nightmare to navigate. flickering light stuff = DONT DO IT. all-flash menus that take five seconds to open even on a 1.6gig PC = arrrrrgh
edit 3: golf looks alright except for the highly unneccessary gullwing doors (always overrated - good luck getting out in a multistorey). i think if its got lexys on the back it will definately look like a dogs dinner (couldnt figure out how to get a rear view). HOWEVER if you want comedy - look at next weeks ride. An '86 Granada Hearse. BLOODY HELL it's horrible, like one of the things we usually crack up about on ebay. From the awful white paint to the flames to the nasty red-and-yellow scheme on the lights to the fact that it is, after all, a 1980s granada estate, its a shed even AFTER theyve pimped it.

caught the end of the program purely by accident

looks like they did a nice job of rescuing a knackered old CL ... BUT

their choice of detailing was a bit funny wasn't it!

All that and it still had the bog standard speedo + clock combination dial-wise (but they gave him an LED gearknob - like you'll be able to appreciate that when it's covered by your hand) ... sounds like NOTHING was done to the engine, it's still a 1.3 fart can (not even a new exhaust or air filter!) ... and despite going to all the trouble to lambo-ise the doors, they've left the original handles in place. Not de-locked, far from it - looks like they didn't even SHINE the handles, and in one shot they were a particularly glaring mottled grey (with slightly tarnished chrome trim) against the black of the door. Jesus. Hello? Guys? SECURITY THREAT? Even a couple of five quid armour plating lock surrounds would have been an improvement. Wonder if they fit an alarm to protect all those touch-screens?

Didn't see the lights properly but i don't think they would have been so bad in comparison to their apparent lack of knowledge to some of the basic things you can do to really up the external/internal appearance and demeanour of a base level dub without too much work.. ie clocks locks & zorst. Vs fitting an - admittedly pretty cool - hydraulic lock box in the rear for all his team's kit and footballs (what, no spare? :D)

Very tempted to ask him to pimp the polo now - because that golf was truly a shed beforehand.. wonder if it was a 4-spd as well? (G-reg)

PS ... PMSL at westwood obviously never having driven an 80s/early 90s dub before and being totally thrown by the reverse/1st gear mishap (easy for a newbie to make before you get out of the habit of resting much weight on the top of the stick) - nearly totalling the car into a garage door. "Don't worry, I'll take good care of it" ... sure hope he's insured.
