I find its slow to pull away in 1st, even if i give it aload of revs

I notice most of the power is situated above 3500 or so.

Handling

Post by morrismen »

I like the grip on the windy roads I drive on - its like a car on rails! the EDL certainly does it for me - I used to drive a Sierra XR4x4 2.9i and this had good grip, but the Polo GTi is even better (and the fuel consumption is better LOL  )

theres too much i like about my car!

the Xenons, the standard look but now lowered with the rims i love it too bits

when i park up each morning i always look back at the car as it looks real good :D

i also love the power compared and be able to trick people into thinking its just a polo, and the BMC noise tops it all off nicely!

I love my gti too. I also call it my baby. When i was on holiday the only thing i missed was my car.

This is my third polo and most def the best. Always getting comments about interior.

Soon to start mods as well. Got a private plate on it and away to lower and get a big back box.

What can I say we have a beautiful rare car.

My brother has a saxo vtr and it just doesnt compare. The vtr is still a tinny car. Our cars are just class!!

Dont we just all love our gti's.

I have a love-hate relationship with my GTI.......

I love it for all of the reasons listed by previous posters (blue dashboard lights especially though.....and also when ppl think its a golf gti 8) )

I hate it for being the most unreliable car that I have ever owned, for the amount of money it costs me to keep it on the road, and for the "service" I get from VW

When you hit 4,500 revs in any gear :D.... especially in 4th because your doing about 110 in 5 seconds flat hehe.

My gf hates speeding, i managed to get 120 out of my gti without her noticing... now thats cool!

"Only" 4,500 revs? On the way back from Llanymynech on Thursday afternoon I had the Polo singing at a shade under 7,000 revs whilst overtaking traffic on the Welshpool road - makes a great noise 8)

I haven't topped 90mph for over 6 months though... :|

4500 is when the VVT makes the valves almost all the way open, which is why you feel the power there, I think they are fully open at 4850, the power dips after 5500 from my experience.
