Just bought my first Polo :)

Post by loolah »

Hi all,

Have just bought a Sept 2002 registered Polo 1.2 SE in Silver & collect it on Wednesday. Have had a quick look through the forum history, but not found what I'm looking for, so can anyone tell me if the original brochure for the '02 models is online anywhere, or alternatively a list of standard features for my model?

Also, as I didn't buy it from a VW dealer, is there anything I should look for, or get checked immediately once I pick it up? The service history only has a VW stamp for the 9000 mile service, and none since although the car has done 25,000 and seems to be in good condition.

One thing I noticed which seemed odd but I'm not too worried for now, is that the car doesn't have alloy wheels, I thought alloys were standard on the SE?

Cheers,
Loo.

Absolutely spot on, many thanks, exactly what I was looking for :)

So I can take it from that plus something I saw about the 2003 spec that the 2002's didn't have alloys as standard. Happy enough with that, just wanted to make sure I wasn't being sold a pup!

Anything I should be looking out for relating to problems in a Polo of this model etc? Anything worth taking it to VW for a check?

Cheers again,
Loo.

Welcome Loolah!

First of all, nice choice of car. Im sure your be happy. Might be worth getting your local VW dealership to look it over and prehaps get it serviced as its done 16000 miles since its last service, just bear in mind that they'll want to charge you £120+ to do it!

How odd, my Polo is a cross between a S and SE - it has the ashtray and cig lighter, body colored wing mirrors and handles, no ABS...

Must be a custom import by VW Sri Lanka...oh well.
