1.2 65 mods

Post by Robw53 »

i have a 1.2 and was wanting to give it some more umf, i have got a custom exhaust system being installed on monday then hopefully the week after there fitting a de-cat pipe, but what else can i do except 1.8t lump which isnt really an option just yet, i am put off induction kits as all they seam to do is gussle fuel and i don't know if they would give any major difference in perfromance, so any ideas would be ace, also where abouts to get hold of the performance parts

cheers

The problem is the 3-pot.

There are very little tuning-parts for your engine.

And maybe you shouldn't because the engine can be fragile.

I would save the money and keep it for a Polo (or another car) with a bigger engine.

A good friend of mine put a 4-pot throttle-body , a camshaft and chiptuning on his BMW 316i. Stock 92 ps, after that 127 ps.

But it costed 2500 euro. And still it's not fast.

i have not had much succes in finding anything for the 1.2 seems like the 1.4 is the starting place for engine mods, although I have put a K&N 57i kit on mine, possibly a tiny bit faster, although fuel economy isn't any worse. So I am concentrating on styling mods (all show no go for me  ) until g'tee is up, and then Its getting the works, big disc's front, disc's on back and 1.8t from a scrappy.

well same here i have been enquiring into having discs replaced front and back as it is drums, which look poor, is yours the 1.2 65?

yea styling is my main thing, the engine parts were going to be at a later date, if i was overtaken by a clapped out old nova ad just laugh and think you might be faster but no style what so ever. am going outragous with my car full bodykit, smooth panels aerial removed headlight conversion and rear afterburners which are special being made for me as there isn't anyone who has done any.

so far i have my 17" team dynamic monza, front fogs, alum aerial, for now anyway, custom exhaust this monday, and a cracking sound sytem which will be in a custom boot build in the near future as well as screens.

but bad news is i broke a front spring in two today so back to the dealers, does anyone know if aftermarket wheels will void my warranty, also same with my exhaust.

Ceedubya that's YOUR next project! Should be easy after your 1.8T!

Just realised that would be a whopping 130bhp from a 2.4!

i think the novelty would soon wear off
