temp sensor?

went on 140 mile round trip earlier today.all went fine part from the revs
were sitting at just over 1000 which didnt seem right,so got home took temp sensor plug off started her up left running for 5 min.then the revs seemed to be back at normal after putting it back on however just come back from me mates house n the temperature rose to well over 90 and the temp light started flashing!!!any 1 got any ideas to what this could be.ps sorry bout the long story. :wink:

might be faulty temp sensor (aka oh not not this ruddy problem again :) its the answer to all manner of random faults)

can be a nightmare to properly diagnose until you fix it, but thats always a good / easy / low cost place to start.... tho you might need to work some magic to stop coolant skooshing out all over the place as you change them over.

then again, a stuck thermostat, broken fan/relay/fuse?

Which temp sensor are we talking about ? Blue or black one ?

yep....... :)

i cant be sure but i think replacing that one solved some minor problems (mine was all covered in rust and ancient gunged coolant anyway) - did my 'stat and coolant at the same time tho

hehe good question, cant be sure really

got mine from GSF, it seems to work, so why mess with it? :D
