bigger injectors?

We have a member who has just 'Charged his Lupo GTi.
Bought the kit from Ebay for £900 if I remember correctly.
That included Charger, manifold and bracket. Forget if anything else was included.
The kit is avalable over here for £1200.
Ajustable fuel regulater to up the fueling, useing the standard ECU, made up all the pipe wrk himself, and used a copper spacer plate to lower the compression.
Hes not got it at full boost but after a few thousand miles around Germany flat out the engine is still fine.
He has a spare engine so has said he will crank up the boost to see how much the engine can take.
Think hes around 180bhp.
He'll be on the Club Lupo stand at Edition 38.
Could be worth saying hello and asking about it.

Its really quite strange what you say,cause turboing this engine isnt that easy.
1)You have to use a piggy back to fool the MAP sensor to prevent going to safe mode.
2)There is NO WAY to reach the fuel requirements with stock injectors alone.Most turbo kits either need larger injectors OR an extra 5th one.
3)How much did he lower the compression ratio ??

Its not something I had ever concidered.
Would be Turbo or nothing for me

1. Regarding the ECU I cant really conferm.
Only spoke to him for a short while, and mostly spoke of the kit, not the instalation.
Again, as soon as I find out for sure, I will let you know.
2. Another of our members has built his own Turbo GTi at home.
This guy is extremly knolagable when it comes to Tuneing.
He'd built his own Valver Turbo mk1 Golf back in his early years in South Africa. (usless info, just wanted to point out the guys prodentials)
Now after he finished the pipework, and manifols, he run the car at min boost with a spacer plate.
This was fine, but as I say, it was on very very low boost.
He was useing the stock injectors and stock ECU (again, I do not belive he was useing a piggy back ECU)
Hes rebuilding the engine with forged pistons and an extra 4 injectors to complete it correctly.
I do tend to agree with you.
I wouldn't think the stock injectors are enough, although his car is running so if not ideal, it can be done.
3. Again, I am sorry you'll find I have a terrable memory, but (Birth pending) I'll be seeing him again at Edition 38 so will find out the answers.
Like I said in point 2, a spacer plate wont lower the compression anywhere near low enough for a high boosted Turbo.
I dont see any reason why a Charger should be any diffrent.
Its very strange, especially as all logic, and information from every source says it shouldn't be possable.
Like I say in the earlier post.
He has a spare engine, ready for if it goes pop.
I belive he will work the engine more, the engine an charger have only just gone into his Lupo Sport.

It started life as a 1.4 sport but he got hold of a 1.6gti lump and charged it,
It runs a rotex 30-84 charger with 75mm pulleys, front mount incooler, oil cooler with custom fan, lupo sport inlet manifold gas flowed head,
Compression plate 11.5-9.1:1, uprated rods, pistons and crank with gti exhaust manifold with powerflow exhaust!
It has carrado 288 discs and carriers!!
Puts out around 156bhp but that was before he told me he was getin an emerald custom remap and ECU! so should be alot more after that!
It rocks but the bugger wont take me out in it!!
