Polo GTi Custom-Code Remap Group Buy! 10 GTi's Needed

Post by Josh_PoloGTi »

Hello!

I have negotiated an absolutely awesome discount for you lot with the owner of Custom-Code ( www.custom-code.co.uk ).

If we can get 10 cars, confirmed by deposit, you can have your GTi remapped for £250 all in!

The usual price would be £411!!!

This does not include a dyno run, but because this is a Phase One remap, it is not necessary.

12bhp and much improved drivability! 8)

So, form an orderly queue!

Edited to add: This is a Chip as the Polo GTi can't be remapped via the Serial Port.

The remaps will be performed at JBS Auto Designs in Chesterfield.

This GB is open to Porka members too... I've posted a link to this thread in an existing thread on Porka.

Well i had mine done the first time this custom code was mentioned.
I paid £308 for it (£350 - 25% for being an existing customer, +vat), which was meant to include the rolling road runs (but actually they didn't get done - was a long drive to be a bit disappointed by that!)

I didnt realise it was a chip... I was under the impression I'd had an ecu remap? where is this chip located?

Yeah that's strange. I wasn't aware it was a chip, but a new code which has been written. Why do they call it a remap? :? Not being cheeky just confused now.

Is the GTi serial port OBD-II? Or is that where the problem lies?

The original posts by me stated that the remap would be via the serial port, but they quickly found that it isn't possible to do this on the SIMOS 3 ECU, so they had to use a chip.

I edited my posts as soon as I found out.

I'm supprised they didn't tell you this when you had it done.

The chip will be inside your ECU.

Does this include a remap then, or a chip modelled on a GTi somewhere?

Ross I dont think the Polo ECU is glued.
Isnt the Lupo?

Moynas i remember you having some problems with the service of JBS, i spoke to them the other day about problems with my car and they really helped me out. As on the phone to them for a good 2 hours all together and they seemed to really know what they where talking about. Maybe you just had a bad experience?

Hehe... You've obviously not read some of the posts on the MK4 Golf Forum, have you!   ... If their search was working on their new forum, I'd suggest you searched for "AMD" on there... But as it's not, I'll leave you to it. Good Luck

All companies have their problems mate.

I think we all know that you don't like JBS, so maybe you could give it a rest now hey?

Not for the same price, but they'll do you a modified S3/TT code if you want (assuming you've got an S3/TT ECU?).

I am sure that we have had an e mail that said that putting this on a public forum was not the way to go.
We had offered to help all we can.
But to do it thiss way I am sure is not the way.
