just got a Polo 1.0 Genesis for £40 with a blown headgasket :-D

my plans are to slap the GT motor i have kicking around into it this comming w/end.

will be using it as a 'test bed' to start with, and see if all goes well.

damn, this car is in better condition that my battered L plate 1.3 CL!!!! HAHA

its black m8. not very tidy outsiude, but the missus is gonna set to with some t-cut tomorrow n see what comes of it (bar the rust spots!)

well... managed to get the old engine removed including the wiring harness all the way back to the fuse box today. then de-greased the engine bay & blasted it all with the jet wash. 7 hours work... im bloody knackered!

oh, n the missus t-cutted the whole car aswell :-D

unsure what to do tomorrow, but im sure i will something ;-)

have my engine, fit it, figure out what the dickens is wrong with it, then add cams, turbo and nitrous.... itll do 150* easily**

gonna take it a little slower i think m8... i want the engine bay to gleam :-D

it could really do with a bit of a spray over.

so today = t-cut the engine bay day :shock:

this is after a few hours effort with the t-cut... still no where near happy with it, just my arms are killing me now, i feel like a gorrlia! lol

if youre not happy with the way that engine bays t-cutted so far, its gonna be too blinding to safely look at when you're done

(though i know cameras dont show the dirt on dark cars anywhere near as harshly as the human eye does)

its just getting really hard to get to some of the places now, as components are in the way (thinking of removing alot of them, & possibly replacing with nice & new (brakes lines for example). Other parts, i hope i can just scrub up better.

after all... i know its just an engine bay, but... i want this car to be one of the cleanest i have ever owned (eventually!)
