Hey guys, have a little dilemma.
As some of you may know i have recently purchased the Schmidt Modern Line 8"*15" alloys for my 6n2 polo. I have coilovers and have slammed it and to be quite honest it looks great. I get so many looks and compliments.
However i have experienced some quite chronic rubbing and scubbing in the arches, so after a few days I took it to my local bodyworkers, who quoted me between £600 - £1000, to carry out all of the relevant work which consisted of rolling the front arches and actually flaring the rears. This is money which i dont have to spend and wont actually cosmetically make my car look much different.
I have been advised to buy some wheels that dont stick out as much. I am not sure what ET the schmidt wheels are, but i assume i will need to get some which dont stick out as much, as i would much prefer to replace the wheels than paying out loads to fix the arch problem with the current wheels.
I absolutely love the euro deep dish look and wonder if anyone can reccomend any deep dish wheels that they may know of or may have had themselves which didnt cause much scubbing in the arches.
Any advice or reccomendations would be appreciated.

I was speaking with a guy at the Deva show today from RennSport about 8x15" Schmidts, they're an authorised dealer
He said that on 195/45 tyres you will get some rubbing on full lock, but otherwise should be OK up to about -50mm lowered, before you will have to consider arch work in order to avoid scrubbage. Depends on the wheel's ET too, the lower the ET the closer they will be to the inside of your arches/suspension?
IMO I was under the opinion that having your arches rolled shouldn't be more than about £30 per arch though

You couldnt class them as a true deep dish euro alloy but i have some 15" Lenso RS5's using 195/45 tyres which look very nice and give off a euro look

I still can't believe people (no offence meant here) buy wheels without doing even a small amount of calculations on clearances first
All you need is the ability to jack your car up and support it safely and to be able to read a tape measure and use a calculator....
I must get round to doing that guide one day

Yeh i admit it was stupid of me. Just that i love the deep dish wheels and was struggling at finding any so really jumped at the first set i could get my hands on.
Does anyone know of any dealers or websites or even european (german) companies that sell the deep dish wheels and any reccomendations on make or model of wheel?
