Full Beam Light

Post by MattMc »

Hey everybody,

Just joined the forum, it looks really good.

I've got a minor problem with my polo. The full beam indicator (the blue led in the dash) doesn't work. The headlights work fine, I just don't get a blue led when I put full beams on. I did try and take the dash apart (while I was fitting new stereo + speakers), but I couldn't get to the back of the instrument panel.
Any advice on how to try and fix this would be great.
It's a 1990 mk2 1.3L polo parade coupe if this makes any difference.

Thanks,

Matt

apparently it comes off fairly easily when you know how it's done (??) ... whether you can actually get the unit apart to replace the light is something i cant answer, but i'd doubt it's impossible.

sterring wheel off.

unscrew screws above panel in lower side of top "lip" of dash.

pull bottom of surround out - its held on by clips

unplug switch multiplugs and take off surround.

unscrew screws and swivel panel forward to disconnect speedo and remaining multiplugs.

take the panel off the facia. Now change bulbs to heart content.

alternativley.ignore the blown bulb.
