Any know the length of the warranty of a polo sold in June 01

1, 3 years......

1 year manufactures then 2-year dealership, only if you have maintained the servicing schedule.

3 years total.

Does it have to be the same dealership where the car was originally bought, as I'll be moving soon, and is it transferable? (I didnt buy the car new)

Nope, any dealership in the UK will qualify the warranty for you.

TD= turbo diesel
PDI= somthing german which roughly translates to powerful i think

ok ive had a little ponder and its for "piefen diecher" or somthing to that effect which is the same thing as hp
nearly cos 1 hp = .98 pd because apparently german horses arnt that strong

PD is 'Pumpe dÃ¼se".

The high-pressure diesel pumps in newer TDI engines.

Have a look in this weeks Autocar as they have a page on PD tech and even compare to common rail engines used by BMW.

It appears common rail are better than PD with less noise.

vw wouldnt have developed the technology if they didnt think there was an advantage to it, just as with any thing

VW didn't feel like buying Fiat's Common Rail system and preferred their own way of doing things.

DÃ¼se means spray nozzle ('verstuiver' in Dutch) by the way, IIRC.
