Depends on size, width and offset fella!

Your gonna have to be a bit more specific!

I think he means the width of the alloys themselves ;) Are these the standard G40 alloys or aftermarket ones?

Righto, we'll start from scratch. When you're buying wheels, the diametre (ie 15") isn't the only thing you have to think about. You've got bolt numbers and spacings, and hub size (self explanitary, you need 4 studs, PCD 100, so 100mm between bolt holes diagonally). You also have offset, ie how far the wheel sticks out of the arch, this is important to consider as if the offset is too high or too low the wheel will either scrub the suspension strut or stick out of the arches. Finally you've got the width of the wheel itself, which is what is important here as you need to choose your tyres accordingly. It's no good having 145/60 tyres on a 9" wide rim as you'll never stretch it on, and trying to fit 205/50's to a 4.5" rim is going to be equally as awkward as the tread will be about twice as wide as the wheel. The standard G40 alloys are 5.5" wide (I think?), and standard tyre sizes on a G40 are 175/70 r13. However, if you get a bigger wheel you'll need a smaller profile and tread section in order to fit under the arches without scrubbing, but at the same time if you're increasing the width of the wheel as well you'll need wider tyres to match.

The wheels you're after should have some lettering stamped to them somewhere, for example this is the centre of one of my alloys:

Image

In the top left you have the dimensions of the wheel, 5.5J x 13, so it's a 13" wheel that is 5.5" wide, same as the G40 wheel. Bottom right is the offset, ET38. The rest you can pretty much ignore. If you can find out these dimensions for us then we can probably recommend tyres for you, the problem is there are so many factors to take into account that we need something specific in order to really help.
