I have a 1.9 PD 100 Sport and if I drive carefully, I mean really carefully I average 72mpg on my way to work, this is on a 40mile journey from Watford to Milton Keynes along the M1 trying to stick to around 60 mph and slipstraming trucks whnever possible! When driving normally it averages around 55 mpg. And when im thrashing it around it dropps to about 27 mpg. The only mods I have is a Green Cotton air filter and the large Cupra intake pipe. I also use Shell diesel, I have tried BP Ultimate a couple of times and have acyually found the performance and mpg to go down!

Hey guys!
I average mid to high 50s most of the time as I spend a lot of time on fast A roads or motorways. I usually leave the climate on all the time so I reckon this is pretty good!
I was averaging about 440 miles from a full tank down to the reserve before the car had its first service at 22,000 miles. After the service, I can easily average almost 500 miles from a tank
By comparison.... the wee Lupo mostly travels in town and averages about 25mpg! Eek! No wonder I don't use it very often!
Diesel power and economy rules!!!!!

I usually average about high 40's to low 50's on my way to and from work. Its about 25 miles each way. Thats driving normally (about 80-90mph
) though.
The best i've got so far is 62 on a 100 mile trip to Milton Keynes. But that was for work so I wasnt in any hurry to get there as I was getting paid for driving
