It just looks like a slightly smaller 307 now! I understand it will be a bit bigger in general than the current 206 but other than that it's definitely in the family way. Not my cup of leaves, milk and boiling water but hey, *shrugs* they'll sell quite a few anyway. Don't like those wing mirrors the french are sticking on these days though... (see also: C4, 307 etc).
Is the humungous grille on the front an exercise in cost-cutting?

they have the 205 that's a classic (ish) design which runs for nigh on 20 years
bring out the 206 thats not too great, but is at least passably mediocre... and it manages about five
to be replaced with this mobile fun-fest? seemingly meant to scare little kiddies and swallow/blend cats rather than run them over?
jeez first the ibiza and now this. there should be some way we can get back at the fools who try to ugly up our roadways (and therefore quite a bit of our lives) like this ... even if those of us who care boycott their product, there'll still be plenty of fleet sales, the marque-faithfuls, and people buying them because the spec/price fit their criteria and they don't care about the looks.
maybe it's something to do with the aforementioned accelerated product life cycle. similarly the polo and the uno having exceedingly long runs where only the internals really had any major attention, as the outside was reasonably well sorted to begin with. come the punto and the latter model polos, the exterior is recieving frequent and intensive attention (not all of it good, by any chalk) whilst the internals are not always granted the same luxury.
PS i'd be interested in a demonstration of how that passes the relevant safety tests ... quite sure that if either of my cars rolled up at an MOT centre looking like that, it'd be an instant fail and a directive to visit a bodyshop immediately.
