Bush??

Post by polocoupcl »

Ive recently lowered my coup and when doing so noticed that the bush on the front shock was nackered!

It is located where the track rod connects to the strut.

Anyone had to replace these? If so where can i get a pair??

Cheers!

You can buy them from gsf, they're listed as 'ARB bush outer' or something along those lines. However, you'll never manage to fit it to the TCA in a million years.. so you'd be much better off buying a pair of new track control arms, which are £16 a piece from gsf. You also get a new inner bush and a new ball joint if you do this, and all you have to do is bolt it in place.

Thinking about it, if you do want to try fitting the bushes to your existing TCA, I've got a pair that I bought and then realised how little chance of managing to fit them I stood. You can have them if you want.. but you will need some kind of a press to fit them.

Yep. Remove the anti roll bar, remove the bolt that secures the ball joint to the suspension strut, remove the bolt holding the TCA to the chassis, pull it all apart, reverse procedure. A ball joint splitter is a handy thing to have for seperating the ball joint / suspension strut, although a few whacks with a mallet tends to suffice if one isn't available.
