What is the best car wax? I want a glossy finish, my friend had some that was just like candle/bee wax not that white liquid s**t. Any ideas?

Wax Advice
Last time I washed and waxed (polished) it was really hard to get rid of.
My arms were well tired by the end and now I'm thinking of just getting one of them rotating waxer/polishers
And my dad was saying the reason why they did it back in the day was cos it offered some exercise while caring for your car.
I'm thinking... to hell with that I play footy already and I just want to give my car a good polish with less work
In Argoose, its about £15 for a mains powered polisher and £25 for a mains charged cordless polisher... theres also one in between the 2... cant remember whats the diff with that.

it reall depends on paint and how bad/good it is. i usally do a deep clean once every 6 months. it usally involves about 5-6 hours of work.
wash with fairy dish liquid ( strips wax)
clay ueing meguirs claybar
wash using meguiars soft wash gel
dry
use meguires deep crystal 1 paint clenser
meguires profesional bodyshop safe speed glaze #80
topped with NXT Tech wax
finished with DC 3 canubra wax.
will post some pics up tomorrow if the weathers good when i finish her off.
EDIT: 80# and NXT wax applyed with porter cable Dual action polisher at setting 4-5

So is the extra gloss protection a wax?loud wrote:i use auto glym super resin polish then follow it with auto glym extra gloss protection, turns my car into a mirror
I was gonna ask if there was a difference between polish and wax... as I have 2, some super wax (cant be arsd to go downstairs and look up the make ) and turtle wax polish. As I was polishing yesterday, the polish just seemed the same as the wax, so I just did the polish... kinda lazy
yes that is a buffer you see there. a rather expencive one at that. it would be the portercable random orbital polisher. import from the states at a rough cost of £200 all in transformer pads and extention lead.JTLondon wrote:Great stuff!
Looks bloody great... like a sexy bird in shiny pvc
You said you do the deep cleanse every 6months... how long does that showroom look last for?
Like are you building up the layers of wax in between that time?
Is that a buffer you use there?
