A 90bhp gt would not beat a 16 valve mk2 unless it was being driven by muppet with the timing out. My mate has a standard 16 valve and that is very similar to my g40 when that was standard.
If i was you i would go for the 16 valve mk2, a stock g40 isn't that great they run out of puff at around 100, handle like crap and the brakes are shocking. I would go for the mk2 unless you were prepared to spend money on the G.
