Need help, test driving a 1.9 tdi tomorrow

hi all going test drive a polo 1.9 tdi tomorrow and just wondered if any you can give me some ideas as to what to look out for ect ect.


We brought one 5 months from a vw garage and in the 5 months we have had it for about 3 weeks max!! Had a few problems with it and a major problem with a knocking noise coming from somewhere near the front passanger wheel area, so vw have had it longer than us trying to fix problem but still no joy.

so we told them we didnt wnt that car once they found out the problem with it and they have found us another one which is a year newer and half the mileage on it and going to look at it tomorrow. Its an 03 plate and just want some pointers really.

After 5 months of hassle and cursety cars would you want some compo out of them aswell? if so what? and how should i tackle it?

sorry,can't really help on test drive things to look for, but i doubt they'll offer much in the way of compensation. it would probably be better trying to get some extras/upgrades fitted to the car, such as upgraded speakers,floor mats,boot floor load covers etc etc
