will the steering wheel out of an audi 80 fit a mark III steering column??

this is the same wheel on e-bay

anyone know??? I need a quick answer as I don't think this wheel is going to last for long in the scrappies, and he's a funny git and won't let me try the wheel out until I've bought it :cry:

Yes it SHOULD fit..my mates old one fitted mine. But thats newer than his.

If you cant find out and its cheap take a chance if it doesnt fit you should be able to shift that easily. a lot of guys with older coupe's and ur quattro's get those as theyre much nicer than the orignals.

Think I'm going to buy it and take the risk anyway. It will only cost me £20. Hope it fits as I really like the wheel. The next problem for me if it fits is finding a centre with a VW logo on it instead of an Audi one. Any ideas????

:( got it today but it doesn't fit :cry: Looks like the wheel and boss will sepparate so I'm going to see if martin (vag parts) can get a wheel boss for it. Does anyone else know of a boss compatable with this wheel and the MKIII polo?

:D OK I have got a wheel boss to fit the car and everything is looking good so far. The only thing that I don't like is the Audi badge on the centre of the wheel. I want to find something VW that will cover the recessed marks left over from removing the Audi item. The replacement badge needs to be around 55mm long by 25mm high or 55mm diameter. Any suggestions with piccies if possible would be very appreciated.
