the car dont wanna start n wen it does it revs by its slelf to 3000 rpm then rapidly back down to 800 it does this by its self n it rides lumpy n i can hear funny sounds from the engine bay
ok ok so i take it it cant be some thing simpel for once like a dodgey injector/burnt wire, i was ragging it quite hard but didnt go over 6700 rpm.. honest
can any local garage do a compression test?
If you aren't then you shouldn't take you G40 above 5500 revs as it will be far more efficient in both fueling and power. This is due to a safety feature in the design of the charger, ok not everyone agrees but what is a fact is that the belts do start to slip at around that if not slightly before.
If you are using toothed belts then this eliminates the belt slipping but the increased RPM is dangerous for the charger especially if it bounces off the redline, the sudden stop forward is very bad for charger. The toothed belts are useful in the lower rev range too by the way, high revs isn't all they are meant for.
The engine is only small and can only take so much. You may have just entered the melted piston ring club.
I would suggest giving a specialist a ring about this. You have a PM.

i'm not saying you need to buy this one - it's just a picture so you know what you are looking for - most car assesory shops sell them - they come with instructions on how to carry out the test etc etc
Oh and to be honest (and don't take offence here) if you carry on abusing your car engines like it appears you do you will always be having problems and 99% of the time they will be expensive ones!!!
6700 rpm isn't clever!!!

how possible is it to melt 2 pistons at the same time though?
if i have enterred the melting piston club im gona get rid of my g40, damn i just bought a 700 pound suspension setup as well
OK, you have toothed belts and you have taken it to a high RPM so you may have put too muh boost into the engine. Give that specialist a ring and see what he says. Ask for quotes, he is pretty good on his work rates. I spoke to him yesterday and told him that I have advised someone with a problematic G40 to go to him and may be in contact soon. There are a number of possabilities that it could be, if it is melted piston rings then Andy can sort it out, he re-builds to 1308 engines using forged pistons and gas flowing. If this is the case you will have a more powerful car with far stronger internal components, you will be able to drive it with fewer revs to achieve the same results and it will be able to survive a little better under harsh driving.
o dear its time to confess, the engine is actually 1308cc already
i dont drive it hard all the time just wen ever the opertunity comes up...m3's so on
ok m8 n andy dont seem to far, im gona pop a set of new plugs in today "the correct ones" n see how it goes, my mechanic cuson rekons he can sort it, he thinks its an electrical problem so i let him have a go, worse case senario its a melted piston then its time to buy a zest 106 1.5 diesel
well it aint the spark plugs as i swapped them over n still 1 and 3 aint firing!, the dizzy cap aint pitted and is practically new. the ht leads all spark
how would i check the coil, ignition amp and rotor arm?

LOL - check the compression - it's a serious fault you have and unlikely to be ignition related
well then i guess its time to hand it over to a garage n pay another 420 pounds bill to have some 1 tell me its highley modified hand over more money than usual blah blah
