GT problems (HELP)

Post by Nick101 »

My GT is just lacking in power, i was haiving a dabble with Jake-GT last nite, he had himself and 3 ppl in the car and i had me and my mate, and whenever he booted it and i did, he was just pulling away from me, and then i couldnt gain any ground at all.The tick over can be a bit dodgy on times, its over fulling a bit, and when i let off the throttle its juddery as hell. My exhaust is blowing like buggery atm, so it could be that thats causing lack of power? Also, sometimes when I turn the ignition on, the fuel pumps make a weird sort of noise, not like the normal wirr, its sounds like theres not enough power going to them, and their makin a weird sort of noise, kinda like the noise something make when its running outta batteries. Its going in for body work repairs soon,
and im gonna replace the leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm, plugs, coil, lambda probe, blue and black temp sensors. Is there anything else you can reccomend that i do while its in the garage?

Many thanx,
Nick

sounds like my fuel pumps and it started dropping power when mine started whirring/grinding like that, its the sound of shot fuel pumps i think! your exhaust leaking will also bring it down on power and cause idle problems as again i experienced the same on my GT (RIP HANNAH! she came off the road forever today :'( :( :( :( :( :(      )

Have you got a new fuel pump on your GT? If so, is it available as your breaking it?
