2 Year Service

Has anyone had there 2 year service yet?

I have read in my manual they just change the brake fluid? is that correct?

I have put a K&N drop-in type filter into my 9n... are they supposed to change that too? if so i'll prob stick the original one in for the service

Just tell them that you have a K&N filter and, you don't want it replaced.

P.S remember to check your invoice!

Because my car is under warranty, does having the k&n filter invalidate it...best to stick the original back in when @ vw?

If your engine blows up, the K&N will be to blame.

If the service sheet says brake fluid needs changing, get it changed. Brake fluid absorbs water and loses its efficiency over time.

2 year service is oil filter and oil change pollen filter brake fluid is up to you but is advised

It is against the law for a manufacturer to require the use of a specific brand of air filter unless it provides a replacement air filter, free of charge, under the terms of the warranty. my 2 year service has been due for ages! iv had no money to get it booked in and now tax is due.
does it matter than the service light has been on for quiet a while?? i hope not

Yeah thanks, that does. Would VW charge me for a new filter, does anyone know? if they will... k&n's staying!

I think they change the filter as part of the service, i.e. its included in the price, so perhaps put in your old filter, let them change it for a new one, seeing as your paying for it? Then when your home, put your K&N back in and keep the new VW one as a spare or sell on ebay?
