My dog had abit of an accident!

Post by polopowah »

Yesterday my dog had quite a bad accident.....
My dad was out walking him as usual, and let him off his lead to have a run about and chase a few rabbits etc, except this time he found bigger game!
My dad heard terrible screams and wondered what had happened as our dag ran out of sight.
When my dad finally found him he had a muntjak deer pinned to the ground and had it around its neck, it all happened quickly and the deer ran off un-harmed as far as we know, but our doggie Zak came off slightly worse, somehow one of the deers horn/antler had torn through his shoulder and left a gaping wound 3 inches deep and to the bone.
The actual length of the cut can be seen in the picture, it is a good 5 inches long, and also it stabbed him under the chin (couldn't get pics of that because he was in too much pain today bless him)

we all just hope he makes a good recovery

Ouch, still he shouldn't mess with things bigger than him  hope he get's better soon though, slightly away from that, me and my dad saw one of those deers get hit by a car the other week, stupid as it sounds, we stayed with it until it died (poor thing) then laid it on the verge  .
