Exactly - Doesn't matter where you come from on this forum you share a love/affection for all things Polopoussou wrote:And here's my view on things..
1)For me there are NO foreigners in a forum, and thats for ONE SIMPLE REASON.There are no countries in the Internet, and the server base country is not enough to justify such a term. Thus, it would be really stupid to start labeling one as such......
buy cheap buy twice or spend a fortune trying to repair the damagepoussou wrote:2)I agree with that view, and the main reason is that someone would ALWAYS find ways to help people the BEST way possible, and NOT the cheapo one, since you can't get your money back from the person who just ruined your care with his silly advice of using substandard materials and/or work.Once again...this is the internet....
I raised this issue of this post getting out of hand with the Moderator group - I was tempted just to lock it down but I always try to ask questions firstpoussou wrote:3)I will agree with you Josh even on this view, and trust me i have re-read most of my posts and do agree they could be more on the light side...
Somebody said the Internet is the worlds biggest sand pit!!!! I liked it and can't agree more.......poussou wrote:BUT.....
I am sick and tired of listening to folks about how their "mate" tunned their Gti, and how its soooo easy to do, and how 2K will get you 200HP and crap like that. There are SOOO many people in forums that haven't got A CLUE as to the peculiarities of a specific engine, and all they do is spread false information, give bad advice and in the end just plain don't know what the hell they are talking about.
To sum it up...I hate ignorance and fake show off's.....
Sharing knowledge is one thing.Distorting it...is another....
Don't rise to the bait is my advice - you wil never win an arguement on a Forum when the other party is a muppet!!!
Modern engines are complete sods to tune - most bolt on stuff is like paying peter to rob paul or in some cases a complete waste of money
manufacturers spend ages and ages developing an engine and lots of cash too - to improve on it takes very carefull work and lots of knowledge
It took me 3 engine rebuilds and best part of £5K to get a normally aspirrated 3.0 24v engine from 204 bhp to 250 bhp without increasing the capacity, buying any hot cams or bolt on items
It was all carefull cyl porting, compression ratio increases, machining the throttle body to increase the airflow, Exhaust Pipe design and ECU re-mapping (the last bit really was the easy bit!!!)
