where do i put the gear oil?

yes i know in the gearbox, yeh i know thats on the transmision housing, just i've looked under the bonnet of my gti, and i cant see where the bit is i have to undo with the allen key, please guys tell me where to look, something foolproof!!

I dont think you'll be able to see it unless you're underneath the car, you'll have to take off the splash guard and lie on the floor! But it will be obvious, its on the front side.

but i dont need to take the bumper off or get the car off the ground?

it will be easier with the car raised a little. But you'll need the car level in order to fill to the correct amount, which I believe is to the bottom of the filling hole.
