I came in work today and it was all good untill about 12....
I get told theyre making me redundant...
What the F**ck a bit out the blue?? No warning nothing...
Im not too upset but a little heads up would've been nice...
Lifes such a b!tch isn't it...

Ah well guess im on a job hunt again....

That's never a good thing mate, happened to me once, just got called up to see the boss - wasn't worried, just thought he wanted a chat. Nope I'd been called up to say I no longer had a job. There was about 5 or 6 that got laid off. Still I found another job that bought me the GTi.

I'm sure you'll find something else as Nick says, just keep you chin up mate and get hunting

p.s. perhaps ring your local citizens advice bureau (i think) and ask for info on how you were treated, surely some notice or pay entitlement

ye u can deffo get some money off them, they are meant to give you redundancy pay, or r u part time? coz if ur part time then i dont think they do, which sux.

Be a lifeguard! u get loads of money for sittin down all day! its awsome!

I was a purchase ledger.

I was there just under 3 months. I took a chance when I accepted the job & as the 3 month were the probation period they dont have to give anything.
They said they will pay till the end of the month.
But the thing that got me is there was no warning, just a quick word (I asked for holliday so i thought they wanted to talk about that ahaha) then they just droped it on me sorry but you're no longer needed.
Cun+s,,, Ah well off to some agency tomorrow...
Need a job quick timgs before anyone notices I've been unemployed...
what a failiure i felt yesterday.

thats sucks mate, but don't feel like a failure, don't put urself down coz the arseholes in that job couldn't see the potential!!

might be a whole lot quicker (and possibly more lucrative) for you to pimp yourself round the supermarkets (or small shops, even better, when one bites), bars and nightclubs if you're looking for any employment fast, rather than entrusting it to an agency

still register, but i can count on the protruding fingers of a tightly clenched fist how many jobs ive got thru agencies. if you're lucky for the skills you have to match with a job that (eventually) turns up and you're the first one to accept its all good.. but i know few clubs that have a full staffing complement for more than a couple weeks at a time.

hospital porters, too, usually short on hands
