full on old skool hair rock

Post by Tahrey1043 »

Heh heh... the test group of tunes for the little quarter gig player free gift i got included a little something from amazon that came the same day ... The Very Best of Pat Benatar... took a chance on it as it was quite cheap.

Its great (except the disappointing edit version of Invincible - back to the MP3s for the full length one..)... the old girl really can wail, beats Kate Bush into a cocked heathcliffe and even out-gwen stefani's gwen (and madonna) with a track released about 20 years ago that sounds about the same but better.
And rock? Yes.... with full on tenacious-D guitarage and the like. All Fired Up, Hell is for Children, Heart Breaker, etc...
(then the last few tracks pick up a great soulful swing... drop them for any serious rockout, tho)

That, a selection of tracks from Bon Jovi's first few albums, some GnR, bit of alice cooper, bit of maiden, bit of aerosmith ("Armageddon" soundtrack NOT ALLOWED), bit of van halen, maybe some led zep and skynyrd even though they dont really fit the 80s line up...

Sorted

Get your big hair scream rock on :D
Love the energy and the groove

... i just need some more suggestions to flesh it out a little further ;)

Erm, I'm not 100% what you said there, but if its suggestions your after, then any AC/DC tracks should be on there...

Although technically you're going to need to have tracks post Back In Black (1980) - the earlier stuff (Bon Scott era) is bloody awesome.

Yeah....so basically any AC/DC really!

ZZTop are the first band that tipped me off that something is wrong either with the player, or my bodys metabolism today ...

bit of velcro fly .... hmm .... this seems a bit slower and more subdued than i remember? maybe in a different key, too?

then a bit of Killers and White Stripes after that (mix selection) also sounding rather different... think it got a bit of static damage from some disposable linen i was having to strip off beds.

But also mine and others voices were sounding a bit off, and doing a usually long winded, solitary task at work that needs about three hours, i had it almost whupped in less than two. Very strange and not a little scary.
