What suspension should I go for?

Post by Silky V »

Hi just wondering if anyone could tell me if they have lowered thier GTI using coilovers and kept the standard wheels on?

If so could you tell me what the difference in ride quality is like from the standard suspension? Obviously i know it'll be stiffer but need to know how stiff.

I am thinking of getting coilovers but not sure which ones to get. Was thinking of getting H&R's or Bilstein, but I hear FK's are good as well.

Any help will be much appreciated

Thanks

if u want good suspension for a good price then i'll say FK Highsport!

i have these on my gti wi stardard wheels! its still comfy to drive but on a real bumpy road ur bum may leave the seat

the gti wheels do sit close to the coilovers so id say get a set of 5mm spacers all round too! just to help that wee bit, and the spacers will bring the wheels back out from way inside the arches which will make it look much better! :D

hope that helps

Thanks for everyone's input. I was just thinking about the spacers Grum. I got so much to do to the car and not enough time.

Grum would you be able to tell me how much the FK's are roughly?[/quote]
