Believe you're right. My 2000 1.0E had the frosted ones, my 2001 GTi has crystal.

Thats whats strange abt mine it was registered in 12-2000, engine code states its a 2001 model, I have the cystal 1s.

The frosted 1s look identical to me old mk4 ones.

Hey I might be wrong! I just know that on the later models they had the crystal ones...

Mine has the frosted ones currenntly (2000 - X) and after reading this thread I fancy the crystal ones. Where can you get them / how much are they?

I got mine from Carnoisseur, but you can get them on-line as well from www.awesome-gti.co.uk to name one. They're £15 on there.

I had to buy a new one a few weeks ago as someone tried to nick one and broke it :roll:
Was about £8 from vw I think.
