hi mate,

the clutch (including plate, housing, bearing) was £89+vat
and the fitting is costing £140+vat from a local vw specialist

Ive been after a SACHS clutch for a while but my local VW specialist said it wasn;t avail.

Could you give me the number for where you got it please?

Not to worry guys, I have the same issues with my polo!!! LOL, I guess it's just a matter of getting used to it? I know what you are saying about trying to maintain a certain speed in 1st & 2nd, and u do end up with a little jumping!!! Still not used to it yet, and I have had the GTi for 2 motnhs now!!!!LOL

These guys sometimes give you VW Club discount of 10% if you ask and you are a member of a VW related Club :wink: .

ok got the sachs clutch fitted!

i must say this is the best 300 quid i have spent in a while!

it is so light! the lightest clutch i have ever felt - im no longer dreading sitting in traffic with that heavy clutch breaking my leg

this has made me love the polo gti again!

If they know that is! I bought mine from a VW Garage, and it came with 1 years warranty, after a few months owning it, I got the front bumper smoothed. Took it to VW last week and had a new switch fitted under warranty no questions asked.

It shouldn't invalidate yor warantee as long as you use a competent VAT approved garage :wink:

I also read the terms & conditions on the warranty booklet thing and couldn't see any mention of the words modifications and void?

What abt lowering, wouldnt that affect it my car still so high, really wanna lower it, concerned abt xeon lights needing adjusting after is this costly......
