oh i just fitted some 15" melbournes on my 9n.got a bit of a shakey wheel today at about 40-50 mph .... have no idea what the camber is on a car at all.. am i going to have to adjust something...i havent lowered it, and i've only gone an inch bigger with the wheels.....assumed all would be ok.?
Hmmm getting mixed opinions here, phoned a garage that do camber and laser alignment and he said "I get asked this a lot the only reason your getting a shaky steering wheel is due to 1 or both your wheels not being properly balanced or it could be the plastic ring that sits in-between the hub and wheel (there’s no ring on mine just a straight fit)" so am gona take them to get balanced AGAIN and let you guys know!
After my wheels got ballanced it made a bid difference (still a tiny bit of shake), so there you go, hope this helps, later all, just fitted my k&n filter u gona get one these!
i lowered my car 40mm on new 15" with low tires and i needed both my camber and tracking re-done. it was way out on my car.
you should get it checked otherwise your wear your tires un evenly. although it does cost to get them sorted, cost me 80 quid, but i think i was ripped of.

do the new wheels need spiggot rings. or is the center bore a perfect fit i think its 57mm on a 6n. if not you will need spiggot rings to make sure the wheel is perfectly centered on the hub.
I know that on my 9n the camber is not adjustable so you may have been ripped off, it is an area where it is easy to be ripped of, I called a local independant VW specialist, who after being given full spec on my car proceeded to quote me 120 to do 4 wheel tracking and adjust castor and camber, which cannot be adjusted, you should take car back to garage that said they have adjusted it and ask them how they managed it.
