Superspint Exhaust

Post by mkone »

Does anyone else on here have the Supersprint exhaust system fitted on their GTI? I've had mine fitted for a while now can't recommend it enough for looks and not being too loud but still noticeable, but whenever I go over a bump always clunks on the chassis, apparently the backbox is too large, anyone recommend anything to fix this?

naa m8 its the torsion bar that the zorst tube has to go over. The bar moves up when u go over a bump and it hits it. Umm, you will just have to get the garage to put it on again and ensure that its far enough away. It can be done, its just he way its fitted. I know it only goes on one way, but the pipes clot into each other and obviosly there is rotation until you do it up with the clamp. Youi just need to make sure its all 'up high, before you do up the clamps. HArd to explain.

I fitted the exhaust myself will have another look under tomorrow to see if I can sort it out its really beginning to bug me! Every bump in the road is a clump from the back makes me want to revert back to standard at times. Do you not get any noises at all from your setup then?

I suppose lowering the car wont help matters either as I'm looking at getting a set of Sportline lowering springs fitted in the new year. :(

Polo's don't have a torsion bar.

Straight forward springs.

Been on my back all afternoon and sorted the problem, the rest of the system from the cat back attached to the backbox needed shifting a good inch, suffice to say all is ok now thats rushing the job first time around for you!

Hello im after a supersprint system, how loud is it and what size is the pipe work? my magnex is far to big under the car so im gunna change it for the centre pipe without the silencer and a stainless back box!!

Is there much clearance between the rear bar and the pipe work as my car is about 70mm down!

If your after loud the Supersprint isn't for you its more noticeable than standard but its no Peco backbox! Just subtle at tickover but press the loud pedal and it becomes noticeable. Teamed with the BMC I reckon it'd be the perfect combination.

I don't know the exact dimensions of the pipework but I have the full system and it is larger than standard. Which makes it imperative to make its fitted exactly.

No there's not much clearance at all between the rear bar and the pipework. Do you get knocking on your setup?
