9N standard bulbs
i bought some Halfords super brilliance bulbs (H7 ones) so that i can upgrade the main beam ones (big round light) to brighter and whiter xenon stylee.
However, having seen my cars lights today it is seen that the H7 standard bulbs are quite white anyway? will changing to these bulbs make any difference?
The sidelights are yellow however. I want them whiter/blusih too, i heard the 9N takes H1s for them, am i correct?
If so, i may just swap the H7 bulbs for the H1 ones, as the halfords ones are on a BOGOF offer at the moment and i heard that they are suprisingly good!

I've upgraded all my bulbs, and found them to be a great improvement over the standard VW bulbs.
Dipped: H7 - Halfords Ultra Blue
Main: H1 - Halfords Laser Blue
Fogs: H3 - Phillips BlueVision
Sidelights: W5W 12v - Phillips BlueVision
I don't think these pics show them too well.
The sidelights are the whitest one's I've come across (beside's leds), but appear quite yellow in the pics as the dipped beams are bright blue/white.
Also, I'd steer clear of 'Bosch Premium Auto Bulb (blue) H7' as the pair of mine both blew after only ~11months

Nice, im liking the H7 ones there, some of Halfords bulbs are quite good, just on the expensive side
I fitted by Halfords Super Brilliance bulbs, but found them to be crap and no better than the standard bulbs i had. So i managed to give em back. I upgraded by sidelights to Halfords Laser Blue 501s. They seem a little whiter, but not blue at all
so id not recommend these either. thats a pic with the sidelights on:

My new motor too btw
, will take some proper day light pics soon.
I think i will try the Philips Bluevision H7 set. They are reviewed quite good!

These show Halfords Super Brilliance bulbs in action. I didn't find them overly impressive, but easily brighter than the VW bulbs.I fitted by Halfords Super Brilliance bulbs, but found them to be crap and no better than the standard bulbs i had. As for the Halford's Laser Blue 501's, yep they're CRAP. I tried them out as soon as i got them - they were as yellow as the standard ones rather than 'white/blue'- so took them straight back in for a refund. Definitely steer clear of them if you're after white/blue look

does any1 know how to change the H7 bulbs. I cant seem to find how to remove them from the lamp, and dont want to force and break them.
The super brilliance ones were fitted by Halfords and removed by em too. But this time im trying to do myself
I done the halfords laser blue 501s to Philips Bluevisions and they are superb, and i agree with jj86 that they are the whitest ones i have seen, and have a nice blue tint to em too
pls can some1 tell me exaclty how to remove the H7 bulbs. I got the loom clip out. Also is there a postive/negative connection, or does it not matter??

With the H7's and H1's, one type is held in by a wire clip that you just need to squeeze together then unhinge. The other is released by rotating plastic circular clip that hold's them in. Only thing is, I cant' remember which is whichAKs_SlickPolo wrote:does any1 know how to change the H7 bulbs.
