Thought i'd post some pics of my car as I had nothing to do. Not really done much to it.
Sorry about the quality of the pics. The light was getting bad. The only mods I have done are:- colour coded front splitter, front black badge, Apline headunit and removing the rear polo badge.
But I never thought anyone could get insured with a mk5 GTi as their first car! Having said that, my brothers first car was a Pug 205 GTi and oh my were his mates jealous
i'm 22 and paying around 700, but thats gonna go up in august when my renewal comes though cos of a little bump earlier this year, lose my no claims etc, not looking forward to it - anyone any advice on best insurers?

For me Elephant.co.uk is the best quite a bit older then u young boys 27, £350 fully comp 5yrs no claims.....
Tried many places but elephant was best for me, when I had my mk4 polo with was moded all declared alloys, full exhaust, lowered, induction kit it was only £400 some places was asking me upto £800
I'm with Elephant, they're the only ones that would quote me, well for under £2.5k anyway. It started at about £1800 but then I got my bumper smoothed so it went up £17 a month.
I'm on the 10 month bonus accelerator to get a years no claims quicker, because I was only a named driver on the last car, although I haven't made any claims.
Its not actually insured in my name. I was getting quotes of £5k and then tried EGG the card company. They quoted me £2.2k. So I decided to get insured under my mum's name as the second driver. That worked out to about £800. Then my dad said he wanted to get insured on the car and because he has 3-points on his license it went up to £1k. The reason I went under my mum's name is because I would have had to pay over £1k anyway after I turn 21 and I know I would have lost alot more money insuring it under my own name.
I also forgot to mention that when I bought it, it had a Short shifter fitted to it.
