dilemma's dilemma's dilemma's!!! what to do....

Post by minis84 »

Hey

I'm stuck, I really don't know what I want to do with my car!

First off, someone recently posted http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/sports-suspension ... dZViewItem these up, a suspension lowering kit - Hardhitter says they're pretty good, and after meeting him at the weekend I'm going to listen to what he says and hopefully get a kit.

Anyway, thats that bit sorted. The next part is what to do externally. I kind of think that cars on alloys don't look so good if the alloys aren't thought about....so I've been doing loads of research into what wheels are available, what looks good etc etc. I want to keep the car subtle and have it as a street sleeper really (when I eventually get round to the G40 conversion, but for the moment standard GT is good enough!). So, I'm stuck as to whether to get some Alleycats and get it looking like this:

Or, keep the standard wheels and trims and get it looking like this:

Bearing in mind, at the moment it looks like this:

What do you reckon? Must admit I quite like the idea of lowering the car on the standard wheels and trims, and fitting some top notch tyres for grip (at the moment it is shocking in the wet, understeer and wheelspin galore!). In another post someone (sorry can't remember names very well!) suggested doing this, and fitting some Avon's.....so I'm tempted, because I think it looks good....but the alloys also look good! Arrgghh, see what I mean?! Its not an easy decision!

I think thats about it at the moment, peoples advice and opinions would be good! Thanks!

i personally love the alley cats, but they're far from subtle if you want it to be a sleeper, if i'm honest i hate the original GT trims, makes the car look poo.

theres some great looking alleycats here if your interested...

i'd leave the sleeper look and go for these anyway

Was me that suggested the avons, they're not top grade top grade stuff, more higher end of middling if you see what I mean, but they work, particularly in the wet.

Think I paid <£40 a corner as well, so it's not a bad thing.

Personally, I like the GT trims, but then I like things subtle. So long as you sort your cableties out, at a glance, most people don't notice they're not real alloy.

i think the alley cats look pretty cool or you could go4 instead of the wheel trims as your street sleeper look, how about some nice wide steelies? http://www.wellerwheels.com
