Smoke screen

Post by Del_GTi »

Here is a question, has anyone noticed that there car tries to do an impression of James Bond's DB5.

I gave mine some stick today after it had heated it up and the amount of steam?!? that came out the exhaust could have totally obscured any car that was behind me's view.

I'm sure that it's just steam/water, water lying in the bottom of the back box.

It's not smoke or oil as there is no smell.

Just wondering if anyone else's does this. First time mine did it i sh*t myself as i thought my head gasket was away.

I have never noticed it, but in a diff car I was driving around for about 2 hours (stuck in traffic etc) and the car was very warm. But because of the damp weather it was still pouring out white smoke (steam).

See if it does it when the weather gets warmer, I dont think its an issue, the exhaust was prolly v hot.

Yeah it's probably nothing, just water in the backbox cos the car mostly does short journey's and the fact that it has been quite cold recently.

Just never noticed before on any other cars i've had. I think the GTi pushes out it's exhaust gases at quite a rate, have noticed u can feel it on ur leg if ur standing behind the car with it idling.

I know you can usually smell it easy enough.

It was quite cold on that day and relative humidity quite high, so the steam persists. I noticed the same thing the other day and checked for the same thing!
