Yeah thats a whole lot of car for the money, I've looked into Passats as well, just the size that puts me off!Del_GTi wrote:Depends on your budget.
This might sound daft but you can get a 52 plate Passat 1.8T Sport with low miles for under £7k. That's a lot of car for not a lot of money. And with a small amount of fettling can be made to be really quick.
I've almost been tempted myself.

My mate has had a couple of 318Ci's but they are not that quick. Personally I am not a BMW and think there are way too many of them on the road. I used to work in the car industry and they are a but over-rated now.Hmmmmm im going to look at a bmw 318ci tommorow and have got to see a audi a3 on suday its blk 3 dr 1.6 fsi so lets see what happenes Laughing Laughing
The VW/Audi 1.6FSI engine is pretty gutless and why pay more for an A3 when you could have a really nice Golf?
The Passat is not that big and a 1.8T can be made very nippy! Get a Sport trim model and you will be laughing.
In the end I suppose it depends on what you need from your car and whether you want something newer or don't mind something a little older. My 9N3 has been good so far and a big improvement overall on my last 9N - don't overlook it as a replacement!
Good luck - let us all know what you decide!
