Newbie needing advice

Post by jenksndubs »

From e38 forum

Rite caddys up for sale in next 2 weeks so with my 21st b'day in less than 2 months its time to get into trackdays and if budgets allow hillclimbs/sprints and maybe navagational rallies in years to follow.

so a mk3 Polo 1300 Gt (chipped,decatted with G40 inlet manifold)

Or a mk2 golf gti?

Im really considering the polo as its light, nippy, and with big brakes n lowered should be a big go kart, however im worried its not fast enough

where as a Mk2 golf has plenty more CC and well ive always had/loved mk2 golfs so wouldnt mind one however it its heavier than a polo?

Discuss?

Whats your opionions guys?
Yous been able to keep up with a mk2 gti cross country/circuit?

Depends if you're talking an 8 or 16v golf.

I would say a mildly modded gt would definately be up there with an 8v golf,i surprised a few in my standard one

Is your caddy modded?

What's the specs and how much would you want for it?
