The saloon version of new polo looks incredible (see picture below)!
This is something I would *really* like to buy as my next car but unfortunately it's not out in Europe yet and apparently VW are still unsure if they ever will....?
Does anyone else know of anything to do with a possible UK release date?
Thats the 9n2, its not a New saloon version and has been out for ages, hence thats why were on the 9n3. I hope they do make a new 9n4 saloon car, but if its like the last one it will only be available in mainland Europe. And if you do go for the 9n2 Id get it in black as well!!!
vw have sold in China for some time now but they have to sell old style engines as the fuel quality in China is still poor. VW do not intend on selling FSI cars there for another 3 years due to this. They dont have diesels yet either.
Brand new B7 chassis Audi A4's still have the 1.8t engine and not the 2.0fsiT engine that we get currently.
Its not the best looker, but at least its better than the last "new style" polo saloon that was knocking about. The wheels and boot still need to be larger though (the car's grown but they haven't), its far too reminiscent of a Honda Matrix. Size-wise, what do we reckon? Similar to an original Jetta?
I have a "saloon" polo, it is in fact called the polo classic here in South Africa. I have the 9n2 (round lights), but the new revised one is available with the only difference being the front headlights, which are the same as the hatch.
I had the choice of either the saloon or the hatch when I bought mine, and obviously I chose the saloon. My reasons where that the saloon has a boot (which is very large) and I thought the ride quality and overall ride was better. In all honesty I think for a young person starting a family it is an awesome car.
As mentioned we don't get FSI here, but the 1.6 comfortline that I bought is an adaquate performer and I think is a good choice as the vehicle is not supposed to be a "boy racer" which the hatch has aspirations of being (and is also a great car).
