vw badges (rear ones)

Post by alpolo »

Hi everyone, my names al and i'm from essex. I got myself a black polo mk6. I am looking to change the back badge, take off the 1.2 badge and hopefuly replace it. Are the back badges just stuck on with adhesive and are they easy to get off?
Good to see so many polos about!

welcome along mate.
rear badges are stuck on with adhesive stuff! 1.2 badge is easy, just heat with a hair drier if possible (makes the glue softer) then get dental floss and pull it under the badges in a see-saw fashion!
clean off the remaining glue with bug/tar remover and polish. hey-presto!!
main rear badge should need similar treatment, although it does sit in a recess!

ps- as ur in essex, u may wish to check out the meetings and events section as there is a meet in dartford, kent at the end of this month.
always a good laugh, good to meet people off the forum!!

nice one DanDiesel, thanks for the advice. The badges came off like a treat, just used some polish and the glue left from the existing badges came off.
Thanks.
