As far as I know, it doesnt display the in car temp just what temp you want it to be blowing (if thats what you mean).

I've wondered this, in the manual it is shown and noted as "in car temp" I'd take a pic but my camera is out of action. Always wondered how to get it to show,

If it says 20 degrees, then that will be what it's blowing which will then be the in car temp, as the car will be full of 20 degree temperature air.

If that makes sense.

Yeah, thats the whole point of climate control, you set the temperature of the interior temperature that you wish it to remain at and then the climate control takes over and maintains that temperature by blowing warm air when it is cooler than the specified temperature or cool air when it gets too warm...

Or, do you mean the outside temperature as the climate control does have a field for this but this has been deactivated as we have the outside temperature displayed in the digital display in our rev counter...

Nah thats not what I mean.

Here is a photo of the climate control guide in the controls and equipment part of my VW manual.

See number 3, thats listed as ambient temperature, the temp inside the car (i think) the dash one is outside temperature.

I see what you mean now, I have my book infront of me as well.

I don't get the bit where it says about turning it off:
The entire system can be switched off with button 11. Press and hold until the word "OFF" appears in the display. This function should only be used in isolated cases, e.g. if there is a fault on the system.

I don't always have mine on, I only use it if I'm cold or the car's misted up.

I have mine off all the time, esp in summer with the windows down (no point running A/C with the windows down)

I dunno why they have that little note in there.

none of the ones in the polos do, on my mums golf it does, i think its just set up differently cause we have the external temp display under the speedo, thats all that display is, not an internat actual reading or anything
