New Polo locking

Just discovered your forum - looks brilliant!

After 4 months I've found a VW dealer who was able to get rid of the double 'zapping' on the remote to open all doors. I know people will argue that there is a security issue, but I much prefer one zap to open all the doors.
Also the car locking is now programmed to lock all doors and boot at 10 mph. When you remove the key from the ignition at journey's end all the doors unlock. Excellent, useful modification that gives piece of mind especially when the better half is driving alone.

Welcome to the forum bertJ, I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay!
Thanks for that information.
I personally haven't got RCL, but I'm sure others with RCL will find this most interesting. What dealer did this for you?

I was on holiday in Anglesey, North Wales. A VW dealer called Pentraeth Motors did the mod. They are on the A5025 between Menai Bridge and Benllech. They are very helpful and friendly. It took their electric wiz some time to find the info. He said that it's available to any VW dealer 'If they have the patience to find out'! It's a matter of re-programming the computer on the car.
Incidentally it's possible to do these mods on any recent VW.

There is loads that can be done, it's just whether the dealer can be bothered to have a play and find the options.... a while back we found out there is 5 settings for your steering - were we ever told?!

Thanks for the info though, I'm sure someone here will be interested

I would like to have the auto lock on too, it should really come as standard in this day and age!

you can program these features with VAG-COM

There are another funny feature available, e.g.

the car will lock all doors if you drive faster than approx 15 mph (code 32)

the car will make a sound with the DWA horn if you lock the car (code 1024)

(rhd cars all need additionally code 128)

you can even modify the warning light for the seatbelt (someone here asked about that a few weeks ago)

there's an explanation here

here's a translation

but some text that's part of a scriptlanguage wont be translated
