Right, I've had this problem with the tracking on my car.
First Hi-Q couldn't track the car as the tracking rod is bent...
Second garage said this too...
Rang Awesome-GTI they told me the tracking rod should be bent, also confirmed by numerous polo owners.
They also said to track the car they shouldn't be looking at the track rod anyway...
Went to Stoke Hi-Q they got car on ramp, looked at it and told me to bring it back Wed afternoon, there not sure if the track rod should be bent, but they'll need it for at least 2 hours to properly look...(2 hours labour!!)
Drove to VW hoping they'd should some life, they just wanted to charge me £72 for them to LOOK at it, any further work would be added on the charge.
But the guy i spoke to didn't seem to know neither..
FFS!
My tyre is wearing thin on grip now which started with 5mm tread last thursday. The car is a nightmare to drive as it just want's to turn right all the time.
I won't be coming to RR unless fixed.
Anyone know any bloody decent garages that have sorted tracking on the MK3?

Sounds like a total nightmare but i have just replaced both control arms on my polo, drivers side is a fixed bar with track rod end crimped in one end, this bar has a curve in it which looks like its bent its ment to be there. The passengers side is a straight rod with a thread inside this has the ajustable track rod end in hope this helps.
