engine mounts

does any one know where i can get some custom engine mounts made for me, i have my eye on on a golf GTi (1.6 i think) engine but i have to go look at what kind of state it is in first. would i need any thing else to strenghen the car (like a strut bar). any advise would be greatly appreciated.

excuse the dumb forigner in me but arnt the gold gti`s 1.8 , 2.0 or vr6`s
disclaimer i am not too sure about the mk1 golf

The golf engine is a tall block, opposed to the small block in the Mk 3's. Another problem would be the sump being close to the floor. They also lean back instead of forward like the Mk 3's do.
You would need a custom made subframe and mounts for the engine, plus any strengthening so it doesnt crack the chassis.

Ibiza engines are a bit easier apparently


And yes, the first Golf GTi's had 1.6 engines
