Automatic opening and closing of windows with key

Post by Shane »

I found that the windows will open if the key is inserted into the lock and twisted held in that position for a few seconds. This also works when locking the car. How can I get this to work with the remote as well???? I have a Polo.

I knew and no it cannot be done with the remote. It's also better to keep discussion on it simple if you catch my drift.

Because the key fob would be like a bloody remote control.

You can do it with some 3rd party alarms I think

I can do it by holding down lock/unlock button on my keyfob, although ive installed a Votex geniune accessory kit to do so, so suppose this does not count

There is actually a module available called Alien Windows that does this. Its designed for MK4 Golfs, but the system in the 9N Polo seems to be the same. You need to remove the door card and it plugs into the existing wires without chopping :)

Wouldn't be too big, the TT can do it with the Key fob, I think they're the flip key anyway?

Hi m8,

I've since delocked the doors too and so this kit is great to unlock the car now (had it before delock to upgrade the central locking to remote). Its made by Votex and is a geniune accessory for the car.... small box of tricks with an aerial lead

I picked it up thru VagParts, meant for a Golf - but the boot connection (connects inline with the central locking pump harness) is this the same and so it works fine. I also took the optional step of wiring it in the the indicators - so they flash once for unlock and twice for lock :D

Simple to fit and comes with two remote fobs to put on your keyring. I have a part number, but it comes up invalid as a dealer part - so it may be that they cannot be sourced anymore thru the dealer, but im sure VagParts still have stock or can get them, its 1H0 054 640 B

Search for posts by me on it, more info there. Some pics:

Hope this helps! Since getting it in March 2005, I have not replaced the battery in the keyfob, so they last and have had no problems at all with it.

Also, there is still space for the first aid kit if you move the box into the gap behind rear light. My picture shows it mounted in the foam without the first aid kit.
