Bad vibrations...

Post by Nick101 »

After I fitted my new wheels yesterday, when I pull off now there a strange vibration coming from the front of the car. My dad thought it was the exhaust vibrating on something because he took it off yesterday to stop it blowing. But on closer inspection, its not the exhaust. Ive heard of other people having these noises when pulling off, but I cant remember what it was causing the noise. Just to note, the wheels have been blanced and checked for buckling, and it only makes the noise when pulling off, not when driving. Also there is no vibrations when driving. Any help greatly appreciated.

Were the hub faces clean when you fitted the wheels? Are all the wheelbolts tight?

How are the condition of your splash shields behind the brake disc? They tend to become a bit s**t and rattle/flap about.

What about the CV boot? Has that become loose or split at all? Might have lost some grease.

Hub nuts tight?

What about the heat shield that runs along under the car tunnel? Or the catalyst shield? Mine vibrates and rattles at certain RPMs, like when idling.
