how low can i go?

Post by Ant_43 »

hello all

i'm thinking of lowering my gti (it needs it, cos i can probably fit my head in the gap). i lowered my previous mk2 golf 35mm, and it made the handling superb, but also not too low for driving over bumps etc.

my questions are:

how low can i go on the polo, without compromising general driveability on bumpy roads and over speed bumps etc?

what kits would you recommend?

any help much appreciated folks

For general driving i would recommend 50mm - 80mm.. 80mm is pretty much perfect height, leaves a tiny gap in the arch.

Hello :)
In my polo is 60/40 kit H&R. I lowered polo about 3 years ago and I drived with this kit about 50k miles. It's very good kit and him quality is very high. My next kit will be H&R too :)

Out of intrest does the Polo suffer from drive shaft rubbage?
The Lupo GTI O/S drive shaft hits the chassis if you lower the car past about 80mm, and the non GTI hits at around 100mm.
